Effortlessly End Cravings With Green Smoothie Drinks
I don’t feel that it’s far off to suggest that a green smoothie diet could provide practically everything your body requires to stay healthy. Short of perhaps Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D, personally I think, these nutritious powerhouses offer it all (yes, even protein). The major dilemma I faced when I started out drinking the smoothies were the unhealthy cravings. Discover how I got past them once and for all.
I’d like to begin by saying that the information in this article is simply my opinion which is based on data I have read about natural health in addition to more than a decade of eating and living the way I have on a daily basis. That and my blood work done twice each year which indicates no deficiencies, I feel this information is valid. Maybe it just works for me, my body type and genetics, I can’t say for certain. However, just like smoking cigarettes will have an affect on each of us with various degrees of health negatives, eating green smoothies, I believe, will have an affect on each of us with various degrees of health positives. Try it for yourself, after discussing it with your doctor of course.
The body is supposed to be equipped to heal naturally right? Then why is it that so many people are sick? Maybe that is incorrect and the human body really isn’t equipped for natural healing? No! The predicament is that people a) do not give it with the sufficient amount of tools, by way of diet for the most part, it needs to heal itself and b) we attack it with stuff that hinders the function of the limited number of resources that we do give it.
I’m a big advocate of the raw food lifestyle. The suggestion that adding heat to food over and above a certain temperature destroying required enzymes that are significant to assimilation makes sense to me. Beyond that, it is implied that to get the most out of our food we should masticate it until it disappears. Our body has troubles digesting large morsels of food. Also, I strongly believe that we can thrive with a a diet of largely fruits and green vegetables, with the occasional healthy fats. For the healthy fats, avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I consume.
The main foods I have each an every day are composed of sufficient amounts of raw fruits and green vegetables in the form of green smoothies. Being that they are in a liquid state, my body is able to assimilate the nutrients without a problem.
A giant hurdle for some when changing the way they eat, and a big one for me is dealing with unhealthy cravings. Like a person that has addiction to drugs or alcohol must go through a detox in order to heal, we pretty much must to do a similar thing. The cells in our body are comprised of stuff from the food that we have consumed in the past. The body usually craves more of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the contents of each of the sick cells in our body. For drug detoxes, often, sauna therapy is used to removes the drugs through perspiration. This usually helps to eliminate the physical drug cravings which could allow the individual a better chance of remaining sober. For us, adjusting our eating habits may possibly induce the elimination of toxic foods as well which can be naturally removed in stool, sweat and our pee. However, we still might having cravings for those foods while some of the toxins in our cells are still present.
I find that immediately after having the first drink of my smoothie my own cravings for salt, greasy foods, sugar, etc started to decrease. After I was finished drinking the smoothie, the unhealthy cravings disappeared completely and I’d be content. The concern then was that the unhealthy cravings would come back as I became hungry. So I started to make certain I was on top of it and would have another green smoothie ready before the cravings would reoccur, or shortly after they reared their ugly heads. The unhealthy cravings in due course subsided for good as I became healthier. After that I started to crave greens instead!
Now, I would like to ask, do you prefer to remain sick and overweight or do you want to have a look at a healthier diet giving your body everything that it needs?
